Beach Byte is a leading in computer system for Surfing Events. The company entered the surf world in 1984 at the city of Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The two founders of Beach Byte, Mano Ziul and Celso Alves started their program to help the judges tabulation at local surfing contest.
Since the beginning of Association of Surfing Professionals, Beach Byte is the official scoring system provider for the ASP World Tour. Looking to expand his products, the company began producing a live scores on the web in 1993 and then in 1998 started to do a live webcast on ASP events. Throughout the next decade, even more products were added to the company's offerings.
